Welcome to Loper Performance - a youth sport performance training and research program within the UNK Department of Kinesiology & Sport Sciences. Our programs focus on developing healthy, fit, strong, and resilient young athletes using the tenets of long-term athletic development. We also act as an educational and research hub for students, coaches, parents, and others working with young athletes. Our vision is to be a world leader in youth athletic development and sports science while serving UNK and Greater Nebraska.

Speed is key for athletic success! The ability to run quickly can be the separator from good athletes to great ones. Speed School is designed for elementary, middle school, and high school aged athletes. We pride ourselves on introducing the importance of proper running mechanics, acceleration-based training, top-end speed training, and change of direction speed training. This program uses many of the same tools and drills as the most respected speed coaches and training institutions in the country.
Ages 14-18
Power is one of the key attributes of elite athletes! An athlete’s ability to quickly express force in any direction can separate good athletes from great ones. Flight School is designed for middle school and high school aged athletes. Within this program we dive deeper into training the importance of power through proper jumping and landing mechanics, force-absorption training, and force-production training. At Loper Performance we pride ourselves on developing and improving power through technique, application of technique, and competition in a fun and safe environment.
Setting goals and monitoring performance begins with testing. We offer a variety of testing services including body composition, functional movement screening, ACL injury prevention testing, speed and power profiling, and aerobic capacity tests.
Take your team's performance from good to great. We offer sports-specific assessment batteries including team combine testing, force plate testing, reactiveness assessment, and speed profiling to take your athletes to the next level.
Food is fuel for activity and recovery. This means that optimal athletic performance begins in the kitchen. Our Loper Performance staff and Registered Dietitian, Kaiti George, develop recipes and education to help athletes maximize their potential in their sport and the classroom.
