This calculator will help an undergraduate student eligible for Pell Grant to calculate estimated summer Pell grant assistance. This is an estimate and cannot account for all of the factors that may impact a specific student’s eligibility.
Pell Grant amounts are based on the exact number of credit hours that you take across the summer semester. To use this calculator, you need to enter two numbers – your SAI found on your FAFSA Submission Summary which can be accessed at studentaid.gov. Next, the number of summer credits in which you will enroll.
Other important points to understand about summer financial aid.
- We process aid automatically after you enroll in classes. It may take up to two weeks after your enrollment into summer classes to receive a financial aid offer.
- Review the start date of your first class – Financial aid may first credit charges 10 days ahead of that date.
- You must be half-time to receive federal loan assistance. Federal loan may be offered only if you have left over eligibility that was not used in the prior fall/spring semesters.
- If needed, additional loan options may also be considered for the summer.
- Once enrolled, AVOID dropping or withdrawing from classes which can lead to reduction or cancellation of the assistance applied to charges and often leads to owing money back to UNK.
