Financial Aid Timeline
Below are important UNK financial aid dates for incoming students (first-time freshmen and transfers starting in the Fall) and currently enrolled students. Apply for scholarships and financial aid as early as possible. Contact UNK Office of Financial Aid with any questions.

UNK Admitted Incoming Freshmen Scholarship opens |
| August 15, 2025 |
Financial Aid (scholarships, grants and loans) is applied to the fall semester bill |
| August 25, 2025 |
Fall classes begin. Drop or add classes using MyBLUE. Student has until August 29 to drop or add classes to receive a full refund. |
| Nov. 2025 - Mar. 2026 |
Incoming freshmen should apply for scholarships that have separate applications such as KHOP, KLOP, Honors, etc. See scholarships for specific deadlines. |

2026-2027 FAFSA application opens |
| February 2026 |
UNK will begin to send incoming freshmen offer notifications for federal aid and scholarships (As students submit the FAFSA and scholarship applications, offer notifications will continue to be sent) |
| March 1, 2026 |
Incoming freshmen must apply, be admitted, and send their high school transcript to UNK by March 1 to be eligible for merit-based scholarships. Most other scholarships require completion of the General Incoming Freshman Scholarship Application in MyBLUE. |

Transfer students must apply, be admitted, and send their transcripts to UNK by March 31 to be eligible for merit-based scholarships. The majority of transfer scholarship applications also have a deadline of March 31. |

UNK will begin to send incoming transfer students offer notifications for federal aid and scholarships (As students submit the FAFSA and scholarship applications, offer notifications will continue to be sent) |
