SEL Outcomes and Assessment

Mapping Student Success & Retention with Student Programs & Events

  1. Programming Evaluations
    • Post-event surveys capturing learning outcomes, satisfaction, and impact on sense of belonging
    • Reflection prompts tied to co-curricular learning outcomes (e.g., CAS Standards, NACE Competencies)
    • Qualitative data from open-ended feedback to identify growth in leadership, identity, and campus engagement
    • Compare feedback trends across events, semesters, or targeted student populations
  2. Attendance Tracking via Loper Links and CRM
    • Record event check-ins to monitor engagement patterns across class years, academic majors, and demographic groups
    • Use engagement analytics to identify high-involvement students and those at risk of disengagement
    • Correlate attendance with academic success indicators (e.g., GPA, retention to sophomore year)
    • Measure participation in key milestone programs (e.g., Blue Gold Welcome, student org fairs, leadership series)
  3. Measuring Event Success
    • Define and track key success indicators: attendance numbers, engagement scores, student satisfaction
    • Align program outcomes with institutional goals for student belonging, academic progress, and retention
    • Highlight “high-impact practices” (HIPs) like peer mentoring, service-learning, and leadership development, and CliftonStrengths
    • Document student stories or testimonials showing how involvement influenced their success
