About the Physics 7-12 Teaching Subject Endorsement Degree Program

On Campus

If you have a passion for physics and a drive to introduce it to the next generation of scientific minds, UNK's physics teaching degree is the next step your career journey. As a physics teacher, you'll have the opportunity to guide students as they grow in their curiosity and understanding of the world around them.

The faculty in both the Department of Physics & Astronomy as well as the College of Education believe in the importance of hands-on learning experiences. Whether it's time spent in the laboratory working on real research projects or in classrooms working with students during early field experiences and student teaching, you'll graduate with the knowledge and experience needed to excel as an educator.

After completing the requirements, program graduates will be fully qualified to teach physics in grades 7-12 at the middle or high school level or to pursue an advanced academic degree. Education degrees are a cornerstone of UNK, which has gained a reputation for producing Nebraska's top teachers for more than a century.
