About the Language Arts 7-12 Teaching and Field Endorsement Degree Program

On Campus

Language Arts teaching involves guiding students in the essentials skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This endorsement program encompasses all aspects of communicating and teaching in the English language, including an understanding of public speaking, theatre, and journalism.

The curriculum at the University of Nebraska at Kearney includes basic and advanced instruction of significant texts from many genres, periods, and cultures. UNK's College of Education has cultivated a reputation for producing Nebraska's top teachers for more than a century. Students benefit from a close partnership with Kearney and area schools, which gives them numerous hands-on opportunities through both early field experiences and student teaching.

Upon completion of the program requirements, you will be fully qualified to teach Language Arts classes at the secondary level in public and private schools, or to pursue and advanced degree.
