Language Arts teaching involves guiding students in the essentials skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This endorsement program encompasses all aspects of communicating and teaching in the English language, including an understanding of public speaking, theatre, and journalism.
The curriculum at the University of Nebraska at Kearney includes basic and advanced instruction of significant texts from many genres, periods, and cultures. Upon completion of the program requirements, you will be fully qualified to teach Language Arts classes at the secondary level in public and private schools, or to pursue and advanced degree.
All students intent on teaching must be admitted into the Teacher Education Program.
