Application Requirements, Documents and Fees

Please review the following depending on what type of student you are:

Copy of passport
Official High School transcript and certificate/diploma (certified through Register of institution or Education USA-if attended an international school)
English Proficiency scores
Additional Documents for Transfer students only
- Official college transcripts
  - If U.S. college(s), also request transcript to UNK Register’s Office for transfer of credits
  - If international college(s), have transcripts sent to a NACES credential evaluation service for evaluation then to UNK’s Register Office for transfer of credits. World Education Services (WES) is a common provider our students have used.
- If transferring from a U.S. institution, you and your current school’s international advisor will need to complete the SEVIS Transfer In Request form through iGlobal at https://iglobal.nebraska.edu/. You will be able to log in using your UNK credentials. The form will be located under the “New Student” tab. The iGlobal link can also be located under “Tools” in MyBLUE.
Financial Affidavit form and bank document
- Upon official admission to UNK, the financial affidavit form and bank document will need to be submitted before we can issue a I-20 form

Current college transcript
English Proficiency scores – not required if coming in for ELI
$50 ELI Placement Fee – required if coming in for ELI
J-1 Visitor English Proficiency form – required if coming in for ELI
Financial Affidavit form and bank document – email intladmin@unk.edu for college specific financial affidavit
- Upon official admission to UNK, the financial affidavit form and bank document will need to be submitted before we can issue a DS-2019 form
