Application Requirements, Documents and Fees

1. Copy of Passport:
   • All applicants must submit a valid passport copy.
2. Performance Requirement:
   • A 3.0 cumulative high school GPA is required for international students (This may not apply to transfer, readmission, or non-degree students).
   • Students who do not meet this requirement may be considered for Admission by Review.
3. Official High School Transcript & Certificate/Diploma:
   • Must be certified through a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.
   • Basic High School Evaluation: Required for students with only secondary school education.
   • Course-by-Course Evaluation: Required for students who completed post-secondary coursework outside the U.S. (Best for transfer credit consideration).
4. English Proficiency Scores – Must be submitted as part of the application.

Additional Requirements for Transfer Students:

1. Official College Transcripts:
   • U.S. Colleges: Send transcripts directly to UNK Registrar’s Office for transfer credit evaluation.
   • International Colleges: Send transcripts to a NACES credential evaluation service (e.g., WES) before submission to UNK’s Registrar’s Office.
2. SEVIS Transfer Form (for U.S. Transfers):
   • If transferring from a U.S. institution, complete the SEVIS Transfer-In Request Form through iGlobal:
   •  iGlobal Portal (Log in with UNK credentials → "New Student" tab)
   • Also accessible under "Tools" in MyBLUE.
3. Financial Affidavit Form & Bank Document:
   • Required after official admission before UNK can issue an I-20 form.

   • Required after official admission before a DS-2019 form can be issued.

Applicants who do not fully meet admission criteria may be considered for Admission by Review. A committee of university representatives evaluates each application individually.

Next Steps if Not Admitted:

• Students who do not meet requirements will be encouraged to attend a community college to improve their academic record before applying to UNK.
• UNK collaborates with local community colleges to determine transferable courses for admission.
