Please review the following depending on what type of student you are:
Copy of Passport: All applicants must now submit a copy of their passport.
Performance Requirement: International students are required to have a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA. Please be aware that this requirement may not apply to transfer, readmission, or non-degree students. Applicants who do not qualify for admission by meeting all entrance criteria may be considered for Admission by Review.
Official High School Transcript and Certificate/Diploma: All transcripts must be certified through InCred.org or any NACES-approved credential evaluation organization. A Basic High School Evaluation is required for students who have not attended a post-secondary institution (only attended secondary school). A Course-by-Course evaluation is required for anyone who has attended post-secondary coursework outside of the U.S. (Course-by-course is the best option for students seeking transfer credit from coursework completed outside the U.S.).
English Proficiency Scores: Applicants must provide their English proficiency scores as part of their application.
Additional Documents for Transfer students only
Official college transcripts
If U.S. college(s), also request transcript to UNK Register’s Office for transfer of credits
If international college(s), have transcripts sent to a NACES credential evaluation service for evaluation then to UNK’s Register Office for transfer of credits. World Education Services (WES) is a common provider our students have used.
If transferring from a U.S. institution, you and your current school’s international advisor will need to complete the SEVIS Transfer In Request form through iGlobal at https://iglobal.nebraska.edu/. You will be able to log in using your UNK credentials. The form will be located under the “New Student” tab. The iGlobal link can also be located under “Tools” in MyBLUE.

Official High school transcript and certificate/diploma (certified through Register of institution or Education USA-if attended an international school)

Admission by review
Applicants who do not qualify for admission by meeting all entrance criteria may be considered for Admission by Review. Each applicant will be reviewed and considered for admission on an individual basis by a committee of university representatives. The student's cumulative high school grade point average and English proficiency score are all considered a primary factor in the admission evaluation and decision. The student may be asked to provide letters of recommendation from the high school counselor or principal as well as an educational purpose statement. Students who do not meet the requirement will be encouraged to attend a community college to strengthen their academic record before attending UNK. UNK works closely with the local community colleges to determine courses that transfer and satisfy the admission requirements.
All application documents can be scanned and emailed to intladmin@unk.edu and mailed to the following address:
