Psychology is the scientific investigation of behavior and mental processes. A Psychology degree provides a solid foundation for understanding this discipline and illuminates some of life’s most important questions, providing us with a rich understanding of social influence, learning, human intelligence, the roots of personality, the effects of stress on health, and a myriad of other topics.
Courses from experimental, social, developmental, and clinical psychology assure well-balanced coverage of the entire field. Students are encouraged to explore their own interests in various areas of specialization including environmental psychology, psychology of gender, drugs and human behavior, and the psychology of criminal behavior.
Practical experience is a pillar of the Psychology program at UNK, where opportunities for apprenticeships, internships, a practicum, and even funded research are available to students, opening up strong career options and positioning them well for acceptance into graduate study programs.
Due to high demand, the Psychology program is not able to accept online majors until the 2023-2024 academic year. If you're interested in pursuing this degree online, please consult with your admissions counselor or academic advisor to discuss course options.
