Any change in a study that affects human subjects must be reviewed and approved by the IRB.
If your research project has been approved by the IRB, but you find you need to make changes, you must have the changes approved by the IRB. You cannot initiate the modifications to the project until the IRB approves the changes. The exception is where an immediate change is necessary to eliminate a hazard to the subjects. Researchers should submit all revisions via NuRamp for projects approved previously in NuRamp. For projects initially approved using the old form, the Legacy Change in Protocol form can still be used.
The Legacy Change in Protocol form is located in the Forms drop-down menu at the top of the web page.
