What makes UNK a great choice for students?

UNK is an institution that fosters individual and personal growth; it has a lot of organizations that can facilitate growth, as well. The campus is not too big and not too small either but just the right size. The size of the university allows students to build relationships with their professors. UNK also has a National Student Exchange (NSE) program, which is not possessed by either UNL or UNO, which grants the student with the opportunity to experience the challenges of being on a new campus whether it be for a year or a semester.

What have you enjoyed the most in being a student at UNK?

I enjoyed the friendly environment and how nice the professors are. I noticed how many professors actually love it when a student visits them and asks for help. I know I wouldn't have continued to visit my professors if they were bothered by my presence. I really enjoyed my Thompson Scholar classes, especially SPCH 100. I felt as though that class really helped me open up to my peers. I also loved the memories that I made with my good friends from that class.

Interests/Hobbies/Involvement at UNK/In Community:

I am a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and TSU. My membership with my fraternity entails a great deal of things, especially community service, which I like because I always feel good helping others. I like to workout (lifting and cardio usually in the morning before classes). I am a huge Ariana Grande fan, I have all her albums. I do enjoy listening to rap music too. I also enjoy looking and analyzing memes because it can be quite enjoyable at times. I also like to participate in intramurals, as well.

What makes UNK a great choice for students?

UNK and Kearney have a great sense of community.  They give off a small town feel while still not being to small.  UNK provides students with similar opportunity that there what would available at a big university, but it is still easy to form good relationships with other students and faculty and not to just become a number.

What have you enjoyed the most in being a student at UNK?

The thing that I have enjoyed the most about UNK is the friendships that I have made so far.

Interests/Hobbies/Involvement at UNK/In Community:
