Why is Peer-Led Education Important?
- Peer-to-Peer Learning: Students often feel more comfortable approaching peers with questions or concerns about sensitive topics such as alcohol, mental health, and many more.
- Contributing to a Culture of Wellness: Peer Educators have the opportunity to challenge campus norms and contribute to a safe and healthy culture on campus.
- Peer Educators do this by engaging in conversations, presentations, and holding important campus-wide events promoting healthy choices.
- Relatable Content: Our Peer Health Educators work closely with their advisor to look at campus trends through data as well as their personal experiences to emphasize what topics are important to discuss and promote at UNK.
