Student Health

Student Health is a campus health clinic that offers medical care to UNK students.  We welcome walk-ins during regular clinic hours, up until 4:30.   

Students taking seven or more on-campus credit hours automatically pay the Student Health & Counseling Fee for services.  Students enrolled in less than seven credit hours can opt in for services by paying the semester Student Health & Counseling Fee.

What kind of health care is offered?

  • Evaluation for a wide variety of health issues.
  • Vaccinations and medications.
  • Simple procedures, such as treatment of warts or removal of ingrown toenails. 
  • Physicals for sports, surgery, or study abroad.
  • Basic laboratory services.

*ASK A NURSE is not staffed 24/7 and is only for non-emergent health questions and issues. If urgent or life-threatening care is needed, please seek care at an urgent care clinic, emergency room, or contact Emergency Services at 911.

Get your flu shot!

Everyone over 6 months old should get a flu shot, especially these higher risk groups of people:

  • 65 and older
  • Pregnant
  • Young children and Children with neurologic conditions
  • Those with Asthma, Heart disease and stroke, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Cancer.

Respiratory illnesses, like Influenza, are mostly spread by contact with respiratory droplets of sick humans.  When they cough and sneeze, infected respiratory droplets can spread up to 26 feet.  It’s best to wash your hands often, don’t touch your face, and cover coughs and sneezes. Since you can’t avoid all humans, get your flu shot! Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face. 

Student Health has Influenza shots available for $25- cash, check, or credit card. 

We do not process insurance, except for UNK United Health Insurance policy for students.
