Academic advising at UNK is a partnership that helps you understand your degree requirements, make informed decisions, and build a clear path toward graduation. Advising is not just about registering for classes. It is about creating a plan that supports your academic progress and your future goals.
Advising helps you:
Understand your degree requirements
Plan your semesters
Stay on track for graduation
See how your courses and major connect to career goals
Advising is required for all undergraduate students every semester before registration.
Thinking about a major or minor change? Talk to a professional advisor first.
Early conversations prevent bigger problems later.

Other advisors for special programs (It is normal to work with more than one advisor during your time at UNK. Each advisor plays a different role in supporting your academic progress.)

Academic Advising and Career Development updates your advisor
It may take up to 10 business days for your new advisor to show in MyBlue. Don’t worry if you don’t see it right away.
New students who are unable to attend NSE will be contacted by an advisor in Academic Advising and Career Development to set up a one on one advising appointment.
