New Student Enrollment

Take a BOLD first step into college life

College is an exciting time for new students and their families. We want you to feel welcome and confident during this transition and have prepared this orientation program to help you get a great start.

Key components of the NSE experience with UNK:

  1. Pre-registration “homework” assignments.
  2. Appointment with an academic advisor to register for classes.
  3. Online orientation modules located within Canvas (our online classroom) with information on campus resources and student life.
  4. Participating in your NSE day sessions.

NSE is a required orientation program for all new undergraduate students as you will be registering for your classes. We will offer both in-person and virtual NSE dates this year. You will have opportunities to interact one-on-one with our New Student Enrollment team, your academic advisor, and others. We remain dedicated to supporting you and your family through this enrollment process. NSE will be a great experience and a chance to answer all your questions as you begin your life as a Loper.

Participating in the entirety of your New Student Enrollment is the beginning of a successful start at UNK. Your NSE date is really your first day of college and we want you and all students to start their academic independence. Parents or guardians are encouraged to participate and will have their own sessions and opportunities to ask any questions about UNK.

Space in each session is limited, and your NSE date is reserved on a first-respond, first-reserved basis.
