LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design

• Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.

Energy Star Program

• Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

Nebraska Energy Office

• The mission of the Nebraska Energy Office is to promote the efficient, economic and environmentally responsible use of energy.

Recycling

Facilities

UNK has developed a recycling program, in conjunction with the City of Kearney, to boost the amount of solid waste that is recycled on campus. In order to promote recycling and sustainability, UNK has recently purchased new recycling containers to be located across campus.
