Certain departments routinely provide goods and services to customers resulting in accounts receivable. The Finance Office can assist with the collection of accounts receivable balances through a collection agency if certain criteria are met. Writing off an accounts receivable balance as uncollectible requires the approval of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance. University departments must use the Nebraska State Treasurer as the fiduciary for their funds. The use of outside bank accounts for the depositing and/or safekeeping of funds is strictly prohibited, regardless of the funding source.
Student organizations operating on the UNK campus are generally independently organized and self-governing bodies not under university authority and control. To facilitate financial transactions a student organization must use their own tax identification number and open an outside bank account to facilitate financial transactions. This report contains the University of Nebraska Kearney’s crime and fires statistics for the previous three (3) years (2022, 2021, 2020) and includes incidents that occurred on campus/University property, in University Housing, or on public property (streets) within/bordering campus, and fires that occurred in university residence facilities, as well as a list of resources available to the victims of crime. The report includes policy statements, links to sex offender registries, tips on personal safety, how to report crimes and how the reports are handled, campus resources and programs regarding safety/security, disciplinary procedures, fire safety and evacuations, and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus.
