The construction projects around West Campus will continue to create travel and parking concerns for many in upcoming weeks and months. Parts of several lots have been closed to accommodate the construction. Currently the parking lots affected are: 22, 25, 26, and 33. There will be times when all or part of the above lots are closed with short or no notice.
As the construction projects progress some of the lots will have different configurations to what we have grown accustomed to. What this means is that many of us will be finding alternate routes to work and parking in areas different from our normal areas on campus.
Please be patient with these changes and plan ahead as we build a better campus.
Starting 5-31-25, UNK Police will be tagging bicycles on campus. When your bike is tagged, please bring the tag to UNK Police to identify that the bike is supposed to be here and is not abandoned. Failure to bring the tag to UNK Police by June 13th, may result in your lock being cut and bike placed in our Impound lot. Bikes will be held in our Impound lot for 30 days then disposed of in accordance with UNK policy.
Please consider donating to the crisis leave program. This program allows any employee who earns vacation leave to donate up to five accumulated vacation days per calendar year. The donated leave goes to a pool of crisis leave hours that are used to help an employee who is experiencing a crisis and does not have sufficient leave to cover their absence period. Donation forms can be accessed through SAPPHIRE or the following link: https://sapphire.bravais.com/adminportal/document/38097
Please submit completed forms to the Human Resources Office.
During an emergency or severe weather event which disrupts or has the potential to disrupt campus operations and services on the UNK campus, the emergency operation plan will be activated. An important part of this plan is to alert students, faculty, and staff of the emergency and to list any precautionary steps to take, if known.
UNKAlert will send emergency messages from UNK to devices and addresses you designate. Communication devices can be cell phones (text and voice), landline phones, and e-mail addresses. Telephone numbers and e-mail addresses for UNKAlert will be maintained by SAP for employees and MyBLUE for students. It is critical for you to receive emergency messages from UNKAlert that your telephone numbers and e-mail addresses are kept up to date in SAP & MyBLUE. Employees and students may "opt in" to receive emergency messages through text messages.
For information regarding UNKAlert please visit the Emergency Management page.
Employees and Departments/Groups of Employees can be nominated for different awards. The awards are presented monthly during the Staff Senate meetings.
Please consider nominating a staff member or group who has demonstrated excellence. It’s time to show our colleagues how much we appreciate what they do and why we’re so very proud to be Lopers!!
