LoperNites Grant Application

LoperNites was developed by the Division of Student Affairs in an effort to make available quality late night entertainment during prime social times, namely 7:00 p.m. through 1:00 a.m. (Friday & Saturday) and 7:00 p.m. through midnight (Thursday). The minimum amount a registered student organization may apply for is $1,500 per event and the maximum amount is $3,500. Preference of funds will be provided for programs benefiting residential students and with new ideas and initiatives.

The applicant is responsible for funds granted and will work directly with the UNK Business Services for distribution. The Director of Business Services may be reached at (308) 865-8448 or by email at christenmt2@unk.edu.

Procedure:

  1. LoperNites support is restricted to Registered Student Organizations meeting all current Student Government and University requirements.
  2. A student organization will only be approved for two LoperNites grants per academic year.
  3. Grants will not exceed $3,500 per request. Multiple student organizations may request funding for the same event. The minimum grant request amount is $1,500.
  4. Requests will be approved on a first come first serve basis, and must follow these guidelines:
  5. Funding is designed to encourage late night, high impact, diverse, events open to all UNK students.
  6. Funds will be provided for programs benefiting residential students.
  7. The program/event that the LoperNites grant is being requested for must be advertised and open to all students at UNK.
  8. Selection is based on student events or activities that engage in the development of community and/or citizenship.
  9. Funds will not be approved for events/programs where there is an admission charge/fee for residential students.
  10. The student organization receiving the grant must recognize LoperNites as an event sponsor.
  11. The program/event must take place within Kearney city limits.
  12. The student organization must submit application for support at least four (4) weeks before the program/event to be considered.
  13. Advertisements must be available to all residence halls.
  14. Applications will be reviewed within five (5) business days of receipt. If approved, the applicant will be notified via email.
  15. If a program/event is canceled, the approved LoperNites funds cannot be moved to a new program/event.
  16. The student organization is responsible for funds granted.
