SPRING 2025 AUDITIONS

**Auditions for both SPRING 2025 productions are open to all current UNK students - not just majors and minors.**

Auditions: January 27 - 3:00-6:00pm, January 28 - 6:30-9:30pm
Location: Studio Theatre (FAB103)
Performances: March 5-9, 2025

NOTE: Rehearsals for this production will begin right away on Wednesday, January 29 @ 6:30pm.

Casting: There are roles for (2) women and (1) man in this production.

To audition:

Check the Theatre Callboard (outside FAB 212) for any additional information the director may post.
Pick up an audition form from the Theatre Callboard (outside FA212). Completed forms should be returned to the Stage Manager when you check in for the audition session of your choice. If you do not have a chance to swing by in advance, be sure to allow extra time to complete a form prior to the audition. On your audition form, be sure to note any and all conflicts (work, classes, recitals, concerts, personal events, etc.) that fall during the rehearsal period and/or run of the production (January 29-March 9).
Arrive in the “lobby” outside the Studio Theatre (downstairs in the FAB) at least 10-minutes prior to the audition session of your choice. You do not need to sign up for an audition session in advance. While you only need to attend one audition session to be considered for a role, the director(s) may ask you to return for a callback at the end of the second session.
Be prepared to wow the director with cold readings from the script. NOTHING needs to be prepared or memorized in advance.

Auditions: February 3 - 6:00-9:00pm, February 4 - 3:30pm (Callbacks as needed)
Location: Miriam Drake Theatre
Performances: May 2-4, 2025

Casting: This Musical Theatre Celebration will be comprised of pieces selected from a variety of well-known musicals. Casting will determine the musical numbers included in the final production, so there is no set number of male/female actors or specific voice types required at this time. In addition to current UNK students, the final cast will include a number of alumni from throughout the history of the Musical Theatre Program at UNK.

To audition:

Check the Theatre Callboard (outside FAB 212) for any additional information the director may post.
Sign-up for a 5-minute Vocal Audition slot on the Theatre Callboard (outside FA212).
Prepare 1-minute of a contemporary or classic musical theatre piece, or a popular song (no rock and roll, please). Be sure to BRING YOUR SHEET MUSIC to your audition. An accompanist will be provided for you.

If you do not have a chance to swing by in advance, be sure to allow extra time to complete a form prior to the audition. On your audition form, be sure to note any and all conflicts (work, classes, recitals, concerts, personal events, etc.) that fall during the rehearsal period and/or run of the production (March 24-May 4).
Arrive in the “lobby” outside the Miriam Drake Theatre at least 15-minutes prior to your vocal audition slot. Be sure to have an audition form and your sheet music ready.
Be prepared to participate in the group Cold-Reading and Dance auditions on the same evening as your vocal audition. There are opportunities for all levels of movement/dance in this production, so you will be asked to demonstrate your abilities by learning various levels of short dance combos.
Know that you only need to attend the February 3 audition session in order to be considered for a role, but the director may ask you to return for a callback at 3:30pm on February 4.
