Auditions for this Spring 2023 Production are open to all current UNK students.

To audition:

  • Check the Theatre Callboard (outside FAB 212) for any additional information the director may post.
  • DOWNLOAD, complete, and return an audition form via email to unktheatre@unk.edu by 5:30pm on the day you choose to audition.  OR bring a completed/printed form with you to the audition.  There will be a limited supply of forms available at the auditions if you are unable to complete your form in advance.  On your audition form, be sure to note any and all conflicts (work, classes, recitals, concerts, personal events, etc.) that fall during the rehearsal period and/or run of this production (March 6-May 7, 2023).  *NOTE: To submit your form, you will need to download/save the completed audition form to your computer and email it as a pdf attachment to unktheatre@unk.edu. If you have any trouble submitting your form electronically, please send an email to the same address.
  • Sign-up for a 5-minute Vocal Audition slot here.
  • Prepare 1-minute of a contemporary or classic musical theatre piece, or a popular song.  If you can sing in a character voice, try to highlight that ability with your song choice.  If not, that's okay too.  Be sure to BRING YOUR SHEET MUSIC to your audition.  An accompanist will be provided for you.
  • Arrive in the “lobby” outside the Miriam Drake Theatre at least 15 minutes prior to your vocal audition slot.
  • Be prepared to participate in the group Cold-Reading/Dance audition on the same evening as your vocal audition. This is a heavy movement/light dance production, so you will be asked to demonstrate some movement ability during the auditions, but you will not need to learn an intense dance combo.
  • Know that you only need to attend one audition session in order to be considered for a role, but the director may ask you to return for a callback at 8:30pm on February 1.
  • Relax, breathe, have fun, and enjoy this opportunity to dazzle the director!

Thank you for your interest in this University Theatre at Kearney production!  Break a leg!!
