To be eligible to apply for admittance to the Honors Program, suggested scores for first-time freshmen are:
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.80, unweighted, and;
- A minimum ACT Superscore of 27.
We know that students are more than their GPA and test scores. If you are slightly below the minimum scores listed, but you feel strongly about belonging to the Honors Program, we encourage you to apply. We will give all applications consideration through our holistic committee review process.
Honors Program Application
Omaha World-Herald Scholarship
The Honors Program awards the prestigious Omaha World-Herald Scholarship, which pays for tuition, books, room, board, and fees for up to 8 semesters. Up to three (3) first-year student applicants are awarded each year.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1
To be eligible to apply for admittance to the UNK Honors Program, a college transfer student or a current UNK student should:
- Have a minimum college GPA of 3.75;
- Plan to be an on-campus student taking face-to-face classes; and
- Arrange to enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours at UNK.
Transfer and current UNK students are evaluated for scholarships based on available funds.
Transfer and Walk-On Honors Application
To be eligible to apply for admittance to the Honors Program, an international student should:
- Have a minimum college GPA of 3.75 or have a top 10% secondary school academic rank;
- Plan to be an on-campus student taking face-to-face classes; and
- Arrange to enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours at UNK.
- Optional: Have ACT or SAT scores available.
International students are evaluated for scholarships based on available funds.
