What makes UNK a great choice for students?
I think UNK is the perfect size. It isn't too small, but yet isn't too big. You get to know a lot of different people in all of your classes and get to know the professor as well.

What have you enjoyed the most in being a student at UNK?
I have enjoyed being both a Thompson Scholar and an OMA Scholar here at UNK. I have met many friends in both communities and also have gotten really involved. I love the organizations I was involved in my Freshman year because I got to do a lot event planning, community service, but most importantly, got to find myself.

Interests/Hobbies/Involvement at UNK/In Community:
In my spare time I really like to run, volunteer in the community, listen to music, read, and shop. During my Freshman year here I was in the organizations of Sister to Sister, SKINS (Student Kouncil of Intertribal Nations), and Elementary Education Club. I also volunteered at the Crossroads Homeless Shelter and volunteered through the Friends Program.

UNK is a home to a lot of people including me. I chose it because it was so tight knit and friendly. You see smiles and hear hello’s just walking to class every day. It becomes your home away from home shortly after you come here, and that is why I love it so much.

What have you enjoyed the most in being a student at UNK?
I have enjoyed the friendships that I have made. I feel like they are only friendships that I could make at UNK. I’ve met so many amazing people here, and can’t wait to meet even more as the year’s progress.

Interests/Hobbies/Involvement at UNK/in community:
I am currently a member of the sorority Alpha Phi. I am also the Thompson Scholars United President. I love to exercise when I get the chance. I love making a fool out of myself and having fun too!

What makes UNK a great choice for students?
UNK is very welcoming. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved on campus as well as in the community. In addition to that, the size of the campus allows you to get to know your professors and make connections with other students.

What have you enjoyed the most in being a student at UNK?
The people that I’ve met, since being a student at UNK, has made all of the difference. Even though we spend a lot of time within the TSLC the campus still provides plenty of opportunities to get to know people from all over campus. It’s really reassuring when you can walk to class and know that you’re going to see at least one person that you’re friends with.

Interests/Hobbies/Involvement at UNK/in community:
On campus I’ve been involved in intramurals, Thompson Scholars United, and conversation tables. Next year I plan to be involved with Christian Student Fellowship. I’ve also volunteered at St. John’s Care Center in Kearney. I enjoy meeting new people, playing and watching sports, listening to music, hanging out with my friends, watching movies as well as Netflix, and crafting.
