About the Theatre Degree Program

On Campus

The Theatre degree program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney allows you to unleash your creativity by partnering with your peers to create meaningful art and entertainment. You'll learn from an experienced faculty who are passionate about providing a high-quality theatre arts education, creating a constructive, challenging, and rewarding learning environment.

Students have the opportunity to take part in every aspect of production, including play selection, direction, set design and construction, costuming, choreography, lighting, stage and properties management, and acting, allowing graduates to leave the program with a diverse skill set.

The Theatre degree offers two specializations for students: Acting and Directing, and Production and Design. The faculty and students in the Music, Theatre, and Dance department serve the community, state, and region as an intellectual, artistic and cultural resource, making the department an important center of learning, leadership inquiry, and cooperative achievement.
