Before a research project using human subjects can be initiated it must first be reviewed and approved by the IRB.
The How to Apply in Ten Easy Steps guidelines help ensure that your research is in compliance with federal and university regulations concerning the protection of human subject. The materials submitted to the IRB must provide sufficient information for the reviewers to ensure that criteria to approve your project are met. These Tips for Submission will help you prepare your application. The Common Problems with IRB Applications explains the 10 problems most commonly encountered
in applications submitted for full-board review. In each case, a recommended solution follows the description of the problem. If you continue to have questions after reading these materials, contact the IRB.Complete the appropriate application form available through the Forms drop-down menu at the top of the web page. For protocols requiring full-board review, applications must be received by the IRB no later than 5:00 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month.
