Pascal Burling, senior in Accounting from Eustis NE, has been interning during the tax season at Almquist, Maltzahn, Galloway and Luth PC in Grand Island. Pascal has been doing individual tax returns as well as billing and payroll for businesses.

Shannon Ridlen, senior in Business Administration from Hayes Center NE, just finished a spring internship at Mount Carmel Home in Kearney. She interned under the dietary manager, learning all aspects of the dietary department, including purchasing, scheduling, employee management, and charting.

Miranda Seidel, senior in Agribusiness from LaCrosse, Kansas, has been working at a spring internship at The Andersons, Inc., in Kearney. The Andersons is a national grain merchandising business with a western region headquarters in Kearney. Miranda has been involved with grain origination, including commodity markets, prospecting customers, providing customer support, learning about the dynamics of prices, basis, and commodity training, and presenting market information.

Mariah Heft, senior in Business Administration and Pre-Dentistry/Health Science from Alma, Nebraska, has been working at a spring internship at Jordan Cochran DDS, PC, a local dental office. Mariah has been learning office administration, including scheduling, payroll, billing, and records. She hopes to own her own dental practice someday. Mariah will graduate this May and begin dental school in the fall!

Jaime McCann, senior in Accounting with a Spanish minor, from Kearney, is interning this spring at Deloitte in Omaha. Deloitte is one of the "Big Four" accounting firms and the largest professional services network in the world by revenue and number of professionals. Jaime will graduate in May and wants to become a certified public accountant at a large firm.

Dr. Greg Benson of the Supply Chain Management Program and Janice Woods of the CBT Career Center spent the morning visiting interns at GIX Logistics in Grand Island. Bennett Steele and Annie Wolfe, seniors in Supply Chain Management, and Chloe Goodwin, senior in Management, are all spring interns at GIX. It's easy to see why they are always smiling - GIX has a fantastic internship program and almost 100% rate of conversion into full-time hires.

Clair Dush is a senior in Family Studies with a public health minor. She is interning during the spring semester at Schrock Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Kearney. Clair is planning to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and she is gaining experience communicating to, caring for, and helping families that have been affected by a short-term or chronic physical and/or mental disability.

Yoshi Kasugahara, junior in Accounting from Tokyo, Japan, interned during the spring semester at H&R Block in Kearney. Yoshi prepared individual taxes and especially gained experience using the Affordable Care Act as it relates to personal income tax penalties. Yoshi was one of thirteen UNK accounting interns working in tax preparation around the Tri-Cities this spring!!!

Maggie Lesiak, senior in Family Studies from Fullerton NE, held an interesting spring internship at Buffalo County Community Partners in Kearney. Maggie worked to support the suicide prevention coalition, including organizing the all-city suicide prevention panel at the World Theatre in March. BCCP utilized Intern Nebraska funding for their internship.

Emily Edwards, senior in Business Administration with minors in Healthcare Management and Public Health, from Omaha, has been working at a spring internship at Developmental Services of Nebraska in Kearney. Emily has been training in the role of a front line supervisor to a team assigned to individuals with developmental disabilities. She plans to move directly into a supervisor position with DSN after graduating in May!

Jesse Ackerman, senior in Accounting with a Finance minor from Hastings, is interning this spring at a RSM, a public accounting firm in Omaha. Jesse is working in audit services, and he hopes to have a better understanding of whether he would enjoy a career in public accounting versus private accounting by the end of the internship.
