Biology 7-12 Teaching Subject Endorsement - Bachelor of Science in Education

On Campus On Campus

Students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will develop biology knowledge, skills, and experience needed to be an effective science teacher with a Biology 7-12 Education major. Working alongside faculty members in the department, mentors encourage active participation and hands-on learning, emphasize research and discovery, and are committed to the development of future biology teachers.

After completing the requirements, a graduate will be qualified to teach grades 7-12 in public or private school systems or can pursue an advanced degree. Education degrees are a cornerstone of UNK, which has produced some of Nebraska’s top biology teachers.

Ben Klein

"I found the department faculty very approachable and ready to answer any of my questions. Never once did I feel as though I had asked a question that was beneath them.” Ben Klein, a fourth-generation education graduate from Kearney State/UNK, has a natural love for the outdoors and a father who teaches high school biology. “I am genetically predisposed to teach biology."
