UNK is proud of our reputation as a preferred program for international students wanting to study aviation.
Our recent students hail from countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Ukraine, Bolivia, Jamaica, India, Pakistan, Ghana, and Nepal. As of 2022, nearly 40 percent of our Aviation program was comprised of international students.
Not surprisingly, the quality of our aviation program is reflected in the emphasis we place on UNK being a choice for international students wanting to study in the United States. As of Fall 2019, UNK had 435 International students from 58 countries studying in our programs.
Working in unison with our International Admissions Office, our aviation program encourages students from every corner of the world to come to UNK for a world-class education and superior flight training.
ELI provides international students with a high quality, affordable English language and American culture program. It's open to all qualified students who wish to learn English in an environment where the focus is on teaching and learning in a safe, nurturing environment, giving students a comprehensive way to prepare themselves for admission into a degree program at UNK.
ELI uses an industry-recognized Aviation English course called Foundation for all International students speaking English as a Second Language and wishing to enroll in the aviation program. Designed specifically to prepare student pilots for flight training, Foundation trains the listening, reading, and speaking skills required for successful aviation training.
