Biography
Pradeep Barua is Professor of Asian History at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. His specialties include South Asia, British Empire, Imperialism, Military History and Ethnic Conflict. In addition to publishing several scholarly articles, he has authored three books – Gentlemen of the Raj and The State at War in South Asia, and The Military Effectiveness of Post-Colonial States. He obtained his Ph.D. in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign. Prior to joining the History faculty at UNK he was an Olin Post-Doctoral Fellow and Lecturer at Yale University.
