UNK’s College of Education is united by a desire to do meaningful work that positively impacts students and communities. Our college consists of five outstanding academic departments:

•  Communication Disorders
•  Counseling, School Psychology & Family Studies
•  Educational Administration
•  Kinesiology and Sports Science
•  Teacher Education

Each department is staffed with the finest faculty members in the country, all of whom are eager to encourage and assist you.

Students in the College of Education pursue academic programs in a wide variety of educational and professional areas at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Our curriculum is designed to be student-centered and intellectually stimulating.

We are particularly proud of the outstanding field placements and intern experiences that we offer. These “real life” educational opportunities are infused into the program at every level, enriching and supporting the course work. We are also dedicated to developing students’ potential as tech-savvy practitioners. The College of Education is equipped with the newest technology that transforms the learning experience.

Another bonus to attending the College of Education is our location. We are fortunate to be located in the vibrant community of Kearney, Nebraska. It is the second-fastest growing city in Nebraska with a wide variety of restaurants, cultural experiences, an active business community, beautiful parks and an excellent K-12 school system. It’s a wonderful place to live and learn.

I believe that being the dean of the College of Education is the greatest job in the world. The high quality of students that attend, the high percentage that are employed upon graduation, the contributions faculty and staff make, along with the general energy that permeates the school humble and inspire me. I invite you to join us.

We have a bright vision for the future that includes you. So, please take some time to look through our departmental web pages. If you have questions about the academic programs call or email the department chairs. Better yet, schedule an academic visit with the Office of Admissions at 308-865-8526 and get an on-site visit of our college.
