How to get started:

  1. If you want to visit with the program coordinator, contact Janet Steele at steelej@unk.edu or call (308) 865-8043.
  2. If you are an International Student, follow this link for additional steps
  3. Apply for graduate admission online.
    • Application fee ($45) is required.
    • Application deadlines:
      • June 15th for fall
      • October 15th for spring
      • March 15th for summer
  4. Within the application choose Select CollegeCollege of Arts & Sciences
  5. Select Program of study:  Science/Math Education (Online)
  6. Select Emphasis/Concentration:  Chemistry or Integrated
  7. Submit evidence of your current or most recent teaching certification or license.
  8. In the online application, you will be prompted to upload evidence of current or most recent teaching
    • Describe your current teaching position.
    • Discuss how completing the UNK Science/Math Education M.S.Ed. Program will help you meet your educational and professional goals.
    • Summarize your undergraduate science, math, and educational training and how it prepared you for our program.
    • If your current teaching certificate or license is from a state other than Nebraska, include a brief explanation of the certification/licensing requirements in your state.
  9. Send an official transcripts from all past institutions (besides the University of Nebraska sister institutions) to the Graduate Office.
  10. Once your application is complete it will take the Science/Math Education Graduate Committee about two-three weeks to process your application.
  11. Once you’ve received an acceptance of admission notification, you may register for class by accessing UNK’s MyBLUE registration system.
