Tuesday, February 20, 2018

IDO Student Career Fair Booth Set Up / 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
IDO Students set up the booths  / tables for preparation for the event. 

Company Career Fair Set Up / 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Nebraskan Student Union – Ponderosa Room (2nd Floor)
Companies can take this opportunity to set up their booths a day early or opt to set up Wednesday morning. 

Advisory Council Meeting / 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
UNK Campus - Nebraskan Student Union | Room 310
Advisory Council members will receive an agenda prior to the meeting. 

Program Partner Networking Event / 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Archway Monument - Dinner / networking event will be at this location for Program Partner companies ONLY. A dinner for representatives of Program Partner companies provides an exclusive opportunity to network with seniors and summer 2018 interns. Casual dress. Interested in becoming a Program Partner? Career Fair Set Up / Continental Breakfast 7:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
Nebraskan Student Union – Ponderosa Room (2nd Floor)
A loading area is available on the north side of the building.  Students will be available during this time to assist you with bringing in materials.  With a campus parking permit (emailed to all registered attendees) you may park in any lot on campus; the lot north of the Union will be reserved for the event.  Continental Breakfast provided. 

ID Overview & Orientation / 8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
Nebraskan Student Union – Sandhills (2nd Floor)
Company representatives new to the career event are strongly encouraged to attend.  Faculty and students will provide an overview of the program and strategies to make your experience at the career event a success.  Continental breakfast will be provided.

Career Fair / 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Nebraskan Student Union – Ponderosa Room (2nd Floor)
The focus of the first 60 minutes will be seniors seeking full-time positions and those seeking Summer 2018 internships.  Underclassmen will join us at 10:00 a.m.

Interview Set Up / 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Nebraskan Student Union – Ponderosa Room (2nd Floor)
Company booths must be dismantled as the room will be reset for interview booths. Interview locations will be different so all booth materials will need packed up and removed. All IDO members are asked to help during this time.

Lunch Break / 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Nebraskan Student Union  -- The Market @ 27th Street (2nd floor)
A lunch ticket for The Market will be in your registration packet.

Company Conducted Interviews / 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Nebraskan Student Union – Locations to be assigned, map provided at the fair.

No interviews will be allowed during the Career Fair. Interviews may begin at 1:30 p.m. in designated locations.  Snacks will be provided near the student waiting area.

Tear down / 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Interviews will not be held this day. Students will assist in taking down the tables / booths.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Career Event

Airports & Travel Times

Getting to Kearney is not effortless, so the ID faculty, staff and students work diligently to ensure your time on the UNK campus is worthwhile!

Currently (11/30/17) the city of Kearney is accepting bids for airlines to service Kearney. You can check the status HERE.

The Grand Island airport (GRI) is 45 minutes from Kearney. Connects can be made via American Eagle or Allegiant.

Lincoln, NE and Omaha, NE airports may provide direct flights from your location. Drive time from Lincoln is a little over 2 hours and drive time from Omaha is 2.5 – 3 hours.

Name Tags

Pre-printed name tags will be made for each of your company representatives. Information for the name tags will be taken from your registration form. If you make any changes to your attendee list, contact the department administrative assistant by phone, 308-865-8504

Lunch Tickets

Lunch tickets will be inserted in the back of each registered guest’s name tag. 


Electronic Parking permits will be emailed to all registered guests 1 week prior to the event. Several parking stalls will be reserved on the north side of the Student Union for loading and unloading items. Additional parking permits will be available at the registration table at all events.

To return your materials, the Antelope Bookstore, located in the NSU, is a UPS drop off location. You can take your pre-labeled packages to the Antelope Bookstore on the first floor of the Nebraskan Student Union.   

Other Shipping carriers: Please bring your prepared packages to the information table and call your carrier for pickup at the address above. The boxes will be moved to the ID Lab in OTOL after the event by the students during take down. 

Students Graduating / Interning

Student resumes and profiles, in addition to graduation dates and internship availability,  will be available on our website approximately 2 weeks prior to the Career Conference.  The password will be emailed to all registered guests.
