Loper Pantry

Lopers PantryOur Mission
To serve UNK students and employees suffering from food insecurity in a pursuit to ensure that no student's efforts to obtain a higher education are hindered by hunger. We strive to provide this service in a non-judgmental, dignified, welcoming, on-campus environment.

About us
In 2012, after attending a NASPA conference and seeing a video about another campus starting a food pantry to help students – we knew this was something that needed to happen on our campus! In collaboration with Campus Kitchen we painted, put up shelves, and officially opened our doors on April 25, 2012. We are now members of the College & University Food Bank Alliance & have participated in NASPA to help other learn about starting food pantries of their own.

We provide food & hygiene items to students on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Kearney that are in need. Students can "shop" the Loper Pantry for the items of their choosing.
