Biography
Melinda Reid joined the UNK faculty in 2025. She teaches undergraduate students in online and face-to-face classes in the department of Teacher Education. Mrs. Reid comes to UNK with a wealth of experience in education. She earned her Masters in Education from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and a Bachelors in Elementary Education and Special Education from Augustana in Sioux Falls, SD. She has earned certifications as an Educational Diagnostician and an administrator from Texas A & M University-Commerce. Mrs. Reid has taught special education for students ages 3-21 in a variety of settings in South Dakota, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas. and on a US Air Force base in Tokyo, Japan. She has also worked in the public schools as a special education department head, Educational Diagnostician, and Assistant Director of Special Education. Most recently she was a Special Education Coordinator for Kearney Public Schools.
