Biography
I got my Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I graduated in December, so I substituted for taught in Lincoln for one semester. I was hired as a fifth-grade teacher in Kearney, Nebraska at Windy Hills Elementary where I stayed for 12 years. During that time, I was fortunate enough to win a National Teaching Award (Milken Family Education Award) and got to travel to Washington, DC and met then U.S. House of Representative Tom Osborne.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with an Educational Administration degree. I was hired as an elementary principal at Glenwood Elementary in Kearney where I worked for two years and was then transferred to Bryant Elementary (Title I build) where I worked for 12 years. During that time, our data showed that our growth improved so we were awarded the Blue Ribbon of Excellence Award. I was hired at Sunrise Middle School where I served as principal for the next five years. After 31 years in public education, I decided to "retire" and my next adventure is as a lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in the College of Education.
