Thomas Kropp

Biography

Tom Kropp has been associated with UNK since 1971 when he was a member of, both, the Football and Men's Basketball programs. Kropp began his coaching career at UNK as a graduate assistant for the Men's Basketball team from 1981-83. From 1983-90, Kropp was the program's assistant coach and served as the Co-Head coach from 1990-96. Kropp was the programs' Head Coach from 1996-2005, until Kropp served once again as the Co-Head coach from 2005 until his retirement from coaching in 2015. Academically, Kropp has close ties to his alma mater. In addition to his two degrees from UNK, he has been on the KSS faculty since 1983. Kropp has been teaching full-time in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Sciences for the College of Education since the Fall of 2015. Throughout Tom Kropp’s time at University of Nebraska-Kearney, he has been one of the most successful Lopers playing on the court and coaching on the sideline.
