My expertise and interests relate to the promotion of physical activity through both individual and community focused approaches. This includes the health benefits of physical activity across the lifespan, the design and improvement of interventions intended to promote physical activity, and the translation of these interventions into community settings to maximize impact. I also have a background in methods of assessing and interpreting physical activity data at individual and population levels. My current focuses are on the importance of resistance training to support independence with aging, and the assessment and promotion of healthy lifestyles among adults.

Much of my work is conducted in direct partnership with organizations in the community, allowing the work to directly benefit the organizations and residents of the local community, while also providing students with opportunities to gain real-world experience through service-learning opportunities.
