Kate Gienger

Biography

I received my undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Exercise Science and then came to UNK to receive my masters in Physical Education Exercise Science. I am a Lecturer for the department and teach general studies courses; Healthy Wealthy Wise and a First Year Seminar course (Live Long Live Well). I also teach a class for exercise science majors, Fitness Leadership. I coordinate Exercise Science Internships. I also teach two activity courses, spin and TRX. I have my Group Fitness Certification through ACE and am certified to teach spin and group TRXI enjoy teaching and continuing to learn all things related to health and wellness.

Community Interests and Involvement

I help coach girls cross country at Kearney High School and have been helping for the past seven years at Kearney High. At UNK, I help advise New Student Enrollment in the summer as before I started teaching I was an advisor in Academic Advising and Career Development.
