Biography

As a core faculty member of the Master of Athletic Training program, I am directly involved in facilitating preceptor/student relationships and creating well-rounded clinical experiences that progress the master’s students in their athletic training skills. I have a passion for stimulating high-quality experiential learning opportunities which stems from my doctoral education, where I was challenged to have an advanced clinician mindset in patient care. I want our students to have a similar mindset both in the classroom and in their clinical rotations and to believe that they too are responsible for advancing the health care we provide as Athletic Trainers.

My experiences as a licensed Athletic Trainer primarily lie with secondary-school athletes but I also have worked with many patients across the lifespan who come from a variety of different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I enjoy continuing to practice clinically while teaching and completing research in areas of patient-centered care and Athletic Training education.
