Ph.D in Organizational and Relational Communication from Ohio University

What do you do at UNK?

I am an Assistant Professor of Communication teaching: Rhetorical Theory, Persuasion, Language and Action and Organizational Communication Senior Practicum. I am also faculty advisor for UNK Alpha Omicron Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta which is Communication’s Honor Society.


Why chose the Communication Department at UNK?

There is no denying the fact that in the modern world today the field of communication is intersecting with several other fields including business, politics, manufacturing or sports. Various professions are looking for graduates who are effective in communicating ideas and concepts in myriad of settings. I am proud to be part of an exceptional team of faculty and staff that is imparting these much needed skills to our students at UNK.

Research

My research focuses on grassroots people’s mobilization and deliberative processes to resolve local socio-politico issues in their communities. Samples of work include:

Deliberation, Difference and Democratic Practice in Malawi.
