About the Clinic

We are dedicated to providing quality, individualized therapy services to both children and adults. Our team consists of experienced clinical educators who supervise and work collaboratively with graduate clinicians. We are passionate about helping our clients reach their communication goals.

All services are provided by graduate clinicians pursuing their master’s degree in speech-language pathology, supervised by licensed and certified speech-language pathologists on faculty.

Thanks to the generous support from the NU Foundation and Scottish Rite Foundation, all services are offered to families at no cost.

Hear from families helped by the SLH Clinic

"The client's time spent at the UNK Speech Language therapy department is very beneficial in his post-stroke recovery.  He appreciates everything the graduate students do to help him with his speech-language needs. They use materials and strategies that are specific to his needs. Using compassion and humor, the students help him feel more confident in his skills while encouraging him to try even harder tasks and activities. He has learned from them, and he hopes that they have learned things from him as well.  He is grateful for the opportunity to continue working with these knowledgeable students in the future."

“UNK speech clinic has been a huge blessing to our family. Each semester our boys have been paired with wonderful students who have helped them tremendously in their speech development. From learning how to say simple words to teaching them to make crisp sounds, it’s so fun to see their progress from semester to semester! We are so thankful we have gotten the opportunity to have our kids in this amazing program!’
