Professors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and UNMC College of Public Health are investigating the relationship between hearing, aging, and tasks such as memory, planning, processing speed, and attention in farmers and ranchers. We invite you to participate in our study.
As people age, there are changes in our vision and hearing as well as the speed in which we complete thinking tasks. We are interested in how adults who are independent ranchers and farmers compare to typically aging adults on these memory and attention tasks.
The study will be completed at the UNK Speech and Hearing Clinic at a time convenient for you including weekends. You will be reimbursed $50 for your time and travel expenses. We will assess your hearing and complete a short series of thinking tasks.
The purpose of our study is to document hearing loss and history of environmental exposures such as noise and chemical use in female primary and secondary operators of all ages.
The purpose of our study is to investigate the relationship between hearing loss, aging, and memory, planning and processing speed in farmers and ranchers over the age of 50.
The purpose of our study is to investigate mobility and fall risk in everyday farm activities in farmers over the age of 60.
The purpose of our study is to document hearing loss and history of environmental exposures such as noise and chemical use in primary and secondary operators between the ages of 19 and 50.
