Science Day

Registration for 2023-2024 Science Day will open in September 2023

The activities planned are designed for high school juniors and seniors interested in attending college to major in science. Students will rotate through different science areas between UNK’s Bruner Hall of Science (east campus) and Discovery Hall (west campus): Biology, Wildlife Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, and Health Sciences. We’ll even provide lunch!

In each science area we’ll introduce your students to these areas with hands-on activities as well as describe career opportunities in each field. The planned activities for Science Day are:

  • Biology Activity
  • Chemistry Activity
  • Health Sciences Activity
  • Physics Activity
  • Math Activity
  • Engineering Activity
  • Planetarium Show
  • Wildlife Activity
  • Campus Tour by UNK Admissions
  • Lunch provided by UNK College of Arts & Sciences

Check-in begins at 8:00 am in either the north entry of Bruner Hall of Science or the lobby of Discovery Hall (your check-in location depends on which group you are placed with, which will be communicated before the event via an email itinerary). The first ‘lab’ will begin at 8:20 am. The last ‘lab’ will end at 3:00 pm.

Departments included: Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, Astronomy & Engineering, and Health Sciences.
