Experiential learning. Value. Caring community. At UNK we want to help you make a difference, in a learning environment that's different.
Our campus sits in the heart of Kearney. The university provides an economic boost, an experienced and educated workforce and reputation to be proud of.
At UNK, we’re about more than creating ideas. We turn ideas into action. We build results to be proud of. That’s the UNK difference.
With its beginning in 2009, and a Sustainability Master Plan in 2015, UNK’s Sustainability Committee is leading UNK to identify and implement sustainability goals.
What is sustainability? It’s a complex concept. The most often quoted definition comes from the UN Bruntland commission: “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
By focusing on UNK’s sustainability in development and operations, we recognize that resources are finite, and not only will sustainable practices support longterm human and ecological health, but our economic health and vitality.
