LPAC: Programming for students, by students

Homecoming-Lip-Sync.jpg

Loper Programming and Activities Council is run by students. Our purpose is to plan and administer educational activities for the university community, in order to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational, and cultural life.

LPAC events range from famous hypnotist Jim Wand, to concerts with performances by Kelli Pickler, All-American Rejects, Secondhand Serenade, Karmin, Scotty McCreery, Cole Swindell and Josh Turner.

LPAC is also in charge of many annual events and campus traditions that UNK students enjoy such as Blue and Gold Day, Fame Talent Show, Lip-Sync competition, Family Day, Homecoming, and the Fun 5K. Membership in LPAC is open to any student who wants to be involved. We meet Thursdays at 5 pm in the Antelope Room of the Nebraskan Student Union.

Blue and Gold Showcase

Friday, August 17, 2018 | 5:00 p.m.
Campus Greens | University of Nebraska at Kearney

Blue and Gold Picnic

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has had many traditions throughout its history that became yearly highlights in the campus community. Some of these traditions remain unchanged and yet some of them were transformed over the decades. The Blue and Gold Community Showcase is one of the University's long-standing traditions that still takes place each year in the fall. Also known as Blue and Gold Day, the Blue and Gold Community Showcase is a one-day event which celebrates the beginning of the UNK academic year with food, prizes, and quality entertainment provided by campus organizations and community businesses. The event proudly welcomes new freshmen, returning students, parents, and alumni back to campus. As the University of Nebraska at Kearney continues to progress on all fronts, in terms of both physical construction projects and evolving best-practices standards in academics, the Blue and Gold Community Showcase will always be held to celebrate the progressive accomplishments and preserved, storied traditions of the University.

Would you like to feature your Kearney area business or UNK student organization in the 2018 Blue and Gold Community Showcase? If so, please complete and send in the entry form below, by noon Wednesday, August 15. Priority deadline to reserve a table is Friday, August 3, 2018.
