Thinking about a change? You're not alone!

Research indicates that nearly 40% of students transfer at least once in their undergraduate career. As the transfer destination of the state, UNK recognizes this trend and has dedicated professional staff who are available to assist you every step of the way.

Here's the transfer process step by step, making it easier to know what you can expect and how to navigate the transfer experience. We're here to answer all of your questions, whether you're exploring what UNK offers and how your existing credits can transfer, inquiring about admission and financial aid, or committing to being a Loper and registering for classes.

Transferring from a Community College?

Guided Pathways are curated lists of course-by-course equivalencies between a community college and UNK. By utilizing a Guided Pathway, students can maximize their enrollment at a community college and reduce their time to obtaining a bachelor’s degree at UNK. UNK Guided Pathways

"My reason for transferring was that I wanted a bachelor's, rather than an associate's degree. I'm committed and focused to obtain this goal. As a non-traditional student and transfer, I choose UNK because of the price. I also enjoyed hearing that most classes in your core studies consist of smaller class sizes, so I would feel recognized by my professors. These smaller class sizes made the transition from community college to university easier. Professors will help you along the way and become great references. It's a very friendly campus with many resources to help you succeed."
