Standard Meeting Patterns

University of Nebraska at Kearney classes are required to meet at standard meeting times. Information regarding the standard meeting patterns for full semester, summer, and graduate level coursework can be found below.

FALL/SPRING

A full-semester 3 credit hour class must be in session 150 minutes/week during the semester and a 15 minute class break is customary each 50-75 minutes of class time.  Class periods for other credit hours should be prorated.

For each 1 credit hour, a class must meet 15 contact hours.  For a basic 3.0 credit hour class, the class must meet at least 45 contact hours during the semester (1 clock hour = 50 minutes contact time)

All classes are required to meet at the standard meeting times as indicated above. Three credit hour classes starting before 1:25PM that deviate from the standard meeting patterns must have written approval from the Dean of the College and the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Classes that begin after 5:00PM are considered evening classes.
