Information Technology Services
Information Technology Services understands the needs of our faculty, staff, administrators and students and provides reliable and cost-effective services, support and products to satisfy those needs.
The staff supports Technical Services, including network infrastructure, server administration and security, and Information Services, including desktop and mobile computing, helpdesk, training, instructional technology, multimedia, and application development. We work together to build and operate a stable and secure infrastructure to support the campus while providing leadership in implementation and utilization of both proven and new technologies.
Provide reliable and effective customer service.
Provide a wide range of technologies including server administration, desktop and mobile computing, local and wide area networks, application development and support, instructional technology, multimedia, and emerging technologies.
Build and operate a stable and secure information technology infrastructure with functionality to support campus needs.
Provide leadership for the campus as well as collaborate with University of Nebraska campuses and Central Administration in assessment, adaptation, implementation, and utilization of information technology for administrative and academic initiatives.
Develop and maintain high levels of employee technical knowledge and expertise.
Supply training and support services for campus users.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has 100% wireless coverage of all the buildings located across the campus. During the summer of 2013, over 900 access points were replaced and updated around campus with the latest IEEE 802.11n networking standards.Plans are in place for the summer of 2015 to have around 90% outdoor coverage.

The ITS Computer Help Desk supports the computing needs of faculty, staff, and students at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Our primary support areas include questions and problems related to:
-Campus network and Internet connections (configuration, access failure, UNK passwords, etc.)
-E-Mail FAQ (Office 365 for faculty and staff; LoperMail for students)
-PC, Mac and iOS problems (operating system, virus eradication, basic troubleshoot solutions)
-Apperson scanning (evaluations and testing for faculty)
We offer technology solutions for PC, MAC and iOS devices for UNK faculty, staff and students for personal purchases.

The Instructional Technology Group (ITG) helps faculty, staff and students to work smarter, faster and better with the applications they use every day. We also investigates new technologies for teaching and learning in both formal and informal settings.
The most effective classrooms today are students and instructors that are moving, collaborating, sharing and building knowledge together. We work collaboratively with faculty in designing and developing courses using technology to enhance learning and teaching.
ITG supports and provides training on the following software: Blackboard, Microsoft Office, Office 365 and LoperMail, Apple OS and iOS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Qualtrics and ECHO 360.
Customized training can be designed to meet your department’s specific needs and personal training sessions can be scheduled if you would like help with a specific problem or just want to learn more about a program.
