Yes, all cars parking on University property must display the appropriate parking permit, whether you are faculty/staff, commuter, campus resident, or visitor, the appropriate permit is available at the Police Department located in the Facilities Building. Vehicles found on campus without a permit will be cited.
A parking permit may be obtained at the Police Department or through your MyBLUE account. You can then pick up your permit at the Police Department located in the Facilities Building. Prior to fall semester, resident hall and employee permits may be mailed to campus addresses. Questions? Call 308-865-8367.
Visitors are welcome on campus. Visitor permits may be obtained at the Police Department located in the Facilities Services Building, Between University Drive and Highway #30 on 19th Avenue. Visitor permits allow for parking in all parking stalls (to include parking meters). Visitor permits are not valid in yellow zones, fire lanes, handicap stalls, stalls marked Reserved, loading zones, etc.
Call the Police Department or Parking Services right away, they will advise you what to do. A new permit will be issued at the cost of $5.00.
No. Once a permit is reported as lost or stolen it is considered an unauthorized permit and cannot be used. Vehicles found with a lost or stolen permit displayed are subject to being ticketed, booted and/or towed.
If you drive a vehicle other than the one you usually drive, just transfer your permit to that vehicle, or come to the Police Department and pick up a temporary permit.
No. The permit is NOT transferable from person to person.
Yes. The permit will need to be returned to the Police Department in the Facilities Building. The amount of refund will be dependent on when the request for refund is made.
No. Parking for permits is enforced 7:30a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday. Should you need to come on campus during those hours, a temporary day permit may be purchased at the Police Department in the Facilities Building.
Yes. A temporary permit may be purchased at the Police Department located in the Facilities Building.
You may pay your ticket fine at the Police Department in the Facilities Building or online in 'MyBlue'. If you believe the ticket is unwarranted, you may appeal the ticket online at https://unkpd.aimsparking.com/. You must appeal the ticket within 14 days from the date of the citation. Results of the Parking Appeal will be emailed to you.
Student records, transcripts, and diplomas will be held by the university if the student owes money. The student can also be prevented from enrolling in classes or from purchasing a parking permit. Faculty/staff will not be allowed to purchase a parking permit. Vehicles with four citations or more will be subject to being booted or towed.
Yes. Parking Services will enforce parking rules during finals week.
A parking permit is not required during the summer sessions of school. Loading zones, fire lanes, handicap stalls, reserved stalls, etc. are still enforced.
