The Intramural Sports Office will present an award to the Intramural participant of the year. The award will go to the male and female participant who has been judged to best meet the criteria for Leland Copeland, who served as Director of Intramurals from 1946 to 1970. Mr. Copeland met an untimely death in 1970.
The award will be based on team loyalty, sportsmanship, congeniality and cooperation with opponents and officials, sense of fair play, talent in several activities, cool head in pressure situations, and generally displaying behavior which should be exemplified in amateur sports. The award will be presented at he conclusion of softball competition in the Spring. The recipient will be selected by supervising Intramural personnel. A plaque and a scholarship good for the subsequent summer session or fall semester will be awarded the winner. Participants in all Intramural activities will be considered, the award will not be limited to team sports participants.
