Intramurals are sporting events of a competitive nature for a variety of participants. Examples are flag football, dodgeball, tennis, racquetball, and many others. Refer to the intramural event schedule for a complete list of events. The key to all intramural events is the sense of SPORTSMANSHIP. Please remember intramurals are best played when everyone knows that playing fair, having a good time, and respecting the opponent and staff are all integral to the success of the competition. Respect the Game!
All current UNK students, faculty, and staff are eligible to play intramurals.
It depends on the sport. Please refer to the Intramural Calendar for specific cost information. We do have "special intramural activities" that have a variable cost such as broomball and extramural tournaments.
All participants must register for intramurals through www.imleagues.com. The directions for the registration process can be found here: http://www.unk.edu/academics/intramural/How_to_register_for_an_Intramural_event/
Yes, but only for certain events. We have competitive and recreational leagues of competition if there are enough teams in each level. If not, we may combine levels of competition.
Co-Rec refers to events where males and females can participate together on the same team against other Co-Rec teams. Basically, it replaces the term Co-ed in the recreational setting.
It is necessary that a representative from your team attend the captains' meetings. Therefore, anyone from the team may attend, but it just makes sense that the captain attends. In order to encourage attendance at these meetings, teams that miss the captains' meeting will lose priority when scheduling for playoffs. Teams that aren’t at the playoff meeting are placed in the bracket at any open spot and lose any rescheduling rights.
Each forfeit will count as a loss and the forfeiting team will receive a zero for sportsmanship. If a team forfeits twice they will be removed from competition.
You may sign up as a "free agent" on the imleagues website. If a team is in need of players they can request for you to join their team. The free agent list will also be announced during captains' meetings.
Champions will receive one of our extremely exclusive intramural championship t-shirts. Winners will also have their pictures and names posted in the Wall of Fame located outside the intramural office and in the Intramural Calendar published at the beginning of each year.
