Tammi J. Ohmstede Beckman
About Me:
I received my BS in Social Work and my EdS in School Psychology from the University of Nebraska Kearney. After graduating from UNK I worked as an educational consultant in a residential facility for about one year. I then decided to get my Ph.D. in school psychology. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with my PhD in December of 2008. Throughout my graduate career, I gained experience working in a number of different settings. Specifically, I have worked with children ages birth to 21 years and their families in school and clinical settings. I have gained experience working in rural settings in Nebraska and Oklahoma as well as in a diverse urban setting in New Orleans, Louisiana.
I have been teaching graduate courses, doing research, and have been a faculty advisor for the Graduate Association of School Psychologists at UNK since August of 2008. I am very happy to be back at UNK where I can teach and mentor students entering the field of school psychology. One of my main interests involves working to expand mental health services for infants/toddlers and their families.
